The Coolum Classic Clip is our most popular groom for an everyday, active, beach going pooch. The body is clipped to a shorter coat length keeping regular maintenance to a minimum.
Dog breeds most suited to the Coolum Classic Clips are all the Oodles.. Poodles, Cavoodles, Spoodles, Moodles, Groodles, Labradoodles and Bichon Frise.
Bathing
Bathing is the most important part of dog grooming, for healthy skin and coat we do a double wash of your dog to really get down to the skin and remove every bit of dirt, sand and unpleasant odours. The benefits of a double wash can include the removal of loose hair, scale and debris and improve the shine of the coat also assists with our grooming techniques as our equipment is easier to use on a properly cleaned coat.
We only use Australian made organic, 100% vegan Shampoo and Conditioner, enriched with organic essential oils Tea Tree, Peppermint and Eucalyptus to add moisture and naturally cool the skin leaving your dog’s coat smelling fresh and clean. The conditioning treatment is a gentle conditioner that nourishes and balances the canine skin it controls frizz and fly aways, increases shine and detangles the coat.
Ears and Eyes
When it comes to ears and eyes they never get overlooked as part of our dog grooming services. For cleaning the ears we use an alcohol-free solution that works to remove wax and debris from the ear canal it also contains a drying agent to reduce moisture. For cleaning the eyes we simply use a gentle flow of warm water and if required a grooming comb is used to get rid of any dust, dirt and gunk from the tear-stained area.
Blow Dry
Now that your dog is super clean and shiny we need to blow dry their coat to remove all moisture, this prevents hot spots and unsightly cowlicks! We use the latest pet drying technology to create a quality finish, it leaves the coat feeling smooth and much easier to comb while performing our dog grooming techniques. We use a variety of grooming tools whilst blow drying to fluff up and straighten the coat to get your dog ready for the next step of their groom.
Feet and Nails
We go in feet first every time! Nails trimmed and filed or buffed if required. Pads Trimmed to remove excess hair from between the toes because hairy feet are uncomfortable for your dog and can cause them to slip and slide.
Hygiene
A tidy up of the belly & butt / hygiene areas is recommended regularly to avoid urine and fecal matter being deposited onto the fur and causing bacteria that can lead to infection and discomfort for your dog. Keeping the fur in these sanitary areas shorter also allows the groomer to check for any skin changes such as redness, swelling, lumps and parasites for the health and comfort of your dog.
The Coolum Classic Clip includes all of the above plus a full body clip – shorter style, this includes the face and legs. The hair length we can keep is dependent on the health of the coat upon arrival at our salon and the needs of the Dog owner, I will make an assessment upon arrival and discuss what options we have and make suggestions based on the appearance of the coat. Ultimately this dog grooming package has the choice of 3 coat lengths, the same blade length will be used for body, face and legs and the options are 3mm, 6mm, 9mm.
Don’t be alarmed we do longer length clips if you desire! Head on over to our Noosa Style Cut page if a longer hair length is desired as this is the dog groom that would be most suited to you in this instance.
The booking schedule for Coolum Classic Clip is every 8 weeks.
